Configure your browser to use WonderProxy

Connecting to a Proxy

To connect to our proxy servers, you can download our browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox and Edge, or you can configure your browser's proxy settings and provide your WonderProxy login credentials.

Getting Set Up

To get started, ensure you have:

  1. Added your desired servers to your WonderProxy account.
  2. Located your WonderProxy username.
  3. Generated a WonderProxy proxy token. You'll enter this proxy token whenever the proxy configuration asks for a password.
  4. Determined the hostname of the server you wish to connect to (e.g. newyork.wonderproxy.com).

A username and proxy token are required to log into the proxy servers. Users cannot use Single Sign-On for proxy server authentication.

If you're looking to configure a VPN rather than a proxy, refer to the VPN Help. Many WonderProxy servers offer support both proxy and VPN connections. The server page lists the services each server supports.

Server Ports

WonderProxy's port numbering scheme allows you to select whether additional proxy headers are included. Ports with the same last two digits will use the same exit IP. The available ports are listed below:

10000 Full proxy headers are added to each request. X-Forwarded-For is sent to the server and X-Host-IP is returned to the client.
11000 No headers are added to the request sent to the destination server; the response includes an X-Host-IP header, providing the IP of the server that handled the request.
12000 No headers are added in either direction.
Requests that are transmitted via HTTPS are not modified by the proxy in any manner. The traffic remains encrypted as it passes through the proxy and no headers are ever added.

X-Host-IP

X-Host-IP is a header that we add for the 10000 and 11000 series ports. It will include the IP address of the destination server that serviced the request. This helps to identify the specific server that you're testing. If you'd like to be able to control which IP address a hostname resolves to, we have a Custom DNS feature available on our Enterprise plan.

Multiple IPs

For servers with multiple IPs you can select a different exit IP by adding 1 to the port number (up to the number of IPs the proxy has). So instead of using port 11000 you would use port 11001 or 11002.
